The Newport Naval Station is home to more than 25 naval and defense commands and activities to include the Navy's most prestigious educational institution, the Naval Education and Training Center's Naval War College. Newport is the Navy's premier site for training officers, officer candidates, senior enlisted personnel, and midshipman candidates, as well as conducting advance undersea warfare and development systems.
