Easy Updates to Help Sell Your Home Part 2

In Part 1 of our two-part series, we talked about a couple home improvement projects to increase the resale value of your home.

In the final part of this series we will talk about two more simple upgrades that will help make selling your home easier.

Remove your pets. Not everyone is a pet person and many people associate in-house pets with damage throughout the home. In fact, advertising that you have pets will decrease the likelihood of a sale. Even if your pets are the most well-behaved of all pets, your buyers don’t know that. When showing your home, be sure to remove your pets from the house. This also includes hiding their bowls, litter box, cage, and whatever pet related items are strewn about your house.

Show your house furnished. You may think that showing your house empty would help potential buyers picture their own belongings in the space but it’s actually the opposite. Homes that are furnished and staged often sell faster. People want to envision how their furniture look in your home and seeing yours will help them have a better idea of the space they are working with.
