U.S. Coast Guard Sector Northern New England is headquartered in Portland Maine and is responsible for marine safety, security, and environmental protection for major seaports and regions throughout Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and a portion of northeastern NY. The Sector's Area of Responsibility spans over 5,000 miles of coastline and 11,000 square NM of water.
