The station's primary mission is Search and Rescue within the Pacific Maritime Region. As the sole Coast Guard Air unit within the Central Pacific SAR Sub-region, CGAS Barbers Point is responsible for a vast area including such island chains as the Marianas, Carolines, Marshalls, and the Hawaiian Chain.
