Welcome to F.E. Warren AFB

Located in Guernsey, Wyoming, F.E. Warren AFB is known as the “Guardians of the High Frontier.” It’s home to the 90th Missile Wing, the largest, most modern strategic missile facility in the United States. The 90th answers to the U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) located at Offutt AFB and the Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) at Barksdale AFB. With 50 Peacekeeper Missiles and 150 Minuteman III Missiles, the base has launch facilities in Southeast Wyoming, Western Nebraska, and Northern Colorado, making it a vital part of United States strategic defense capabilities.

The Global Strike Tactics & Training Center (GSTTC) teaches advanced security forces skills including weapons firing, integrated security operations, nuclear operations, and bomber operations. F.E. Warren AFB is located in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Situated just north of the Colorado state line, you’ll undoubtedly see some of the most stunning sunsets over the unique terrain in this region. The wing employs approximately 3,361 military members and 964 civilian employees. Once you account for 5,445 family members and 5,000 local military retirees, the community grows to nearly 15,000.

Fun Fact: F.E. Warren AFB is the oldest continually active installation in the Air Force.

Cheyenne Frontier Days: The largest outdoor rodeo and western celebration dating back to 1897. 

 

Cheyenne Botanic Gardens: Admission to the gardens is free to the public. Cheyenne Botanic Gardens is Wyoming’s only botanic garden and features the three-story Shane Smith Grand Conservatory and The Paul Smith Children’s Village.
