NAS Oceana is located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in the metropolitan area known as Hampton Roads, about 200 miles south of Washington, D.C.
Naval Air Station Oceana is the Navy’s East Coast Master Jet Base, home to F/A-18 Hornets and Super Hornets and includes the Dam Neck Annex. You’ll also note the presence of the Army, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard in this area, creating a true joint forces atmosphere.

Military housing at NAS Oceana is privatized. It is located in Virginia Beach in the area known as Hampton Roads, just south of Norfolk. Housing consists of 991 homes offered in five different communities. It is managed by

Whether you prefer the city or suburbs, you’ll find it here! With 13 military bases in the Hampton Roads area, military families live in popular areas like Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, Suffolk, Newport News, Yorktown, Williamsburg, and Chesapeake.
If you choose to live north of Oceana across the water, be aware that the HRBT system (Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel) is an important factor for commutes. Traffic regularly backs up at the many bridges and tunnels of this coastal region. Be sure to factor in extra time if you’re making the trek across the bridge/tunnel system.
