City planners are working to make this area a business and entertainment center. Equal distance to Norfolk downtown as it is to the beachfront area as it is to the quieter suburbs of Chesapeake or the Chesapeake Bay beachfront and local favorite, "Chix" Beach (immediately to the north). The location and amount of things to do here really cannot be overstated. Convenient access to interstate (I-264) as well. I can get to downtown Norfolk in approximately 15 minutes, EVMU is 20 minutes, Chix beach is 10 minutes, and Va Beach is 15 (traffic depending). Neighborhood Description If you are moving to Virginia Beach/Norfolk/Chesapeake area and are unsure where to look, pay one visit to Town Center. As the name suggests, it literally is in the middle of it all. Close to beach, close to bay, close to bases, close to shopping, close to downtown Norfolk, conveniently close, yet far enough, frmo interstate access, close to....well, everything. Yet quiet enough that you can call it home. Eat breakfast at one of the cafes in the morning, walk the park and do some shopping during the day, and then grab a nice dinner and walk to either the movies, or a live show at the Sandler Center, in the evening. Then finish it all off with a glass of wine at the wine bar, a beer at any of the local establishments or some ice cream or gelatto to boot! What I love about the home Personally, I loved living here for four years. Friendly, respectful neighbors within the building from all walks of life. There are only 56 total units divided amongst four floors in a five story building (first floor is a McCormick and Schmicks restaurant and a Crepe/Gellato restaurant) whereas it is quiet, respectful and friendly environment. What I liked best was the fact that I could close the door to my place, leave, and not worry about a single thing until I returned. Some frequently asked questions: 1. Security: Building has secure entrance - key fob and/or code required. 2. Mail: Your mailbox is in the building. You'll be given a separate key. 3. Parking: There is no dedicated parking, but there's plenty of on-street and parking garage parking around. Paid, dedicated parking spots are available in many of the surrounding parking garages only a minute walk away. 4. Access: There are two elevators in the building as well as two stairways. 5. Trash: Each floor has a trash chute. 6. Balcony: There is no balcony, per se, that you can walk out onto. That said, you'll see there's a large sliding glass door that can be opened....which on spring and fall evenings is really awesome. 7. Fire Suppression: The unit, and the entire building, are equipped with sprinkler systems. 8. Property Management: We manage the property ourselves - no company to go through.
