The McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base is a joint military facility located at McGhee Tyson Airport, approximately 10 miles south of the central business district of Knoxville, near Alcoa, Blount County, Tennessee. It is the home of the 134th Air Refueling Wing of the Tennessee ANG. Other tenants of the base include the 219th Command and Control Group, the I.G. Brown Air National Guard Training and Education Center, and units of the Tennessee Army National Guard.

Naval Support Activity (NSA) Mid South serves as the Navy’s Human Resources Center of Excellence with a mission of maintaining and operating facilities and providing administrative and logistic support to tenant activities. A major tenant is the Navy Personnel Command as well as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Finance Center. More than 7,500 military, civilian, and contract personnel are work at the base.
