We are proud to unveil the new MilitaryByOwner responsive website. You may be wondering why we use the term ‘responsive’. This is due to the fact that whether you access our site through your desktop computer, tablet or mobile device, our site will optimize to allow you to advertise your home or to search for the perfect off base military housing. There is no longer the need to utilize a mobile app.
The purpose of this tutorial is to introduce you to the new features and guide you through the process of searching for home on MilitaryByOwner.com.
Just below the main image on our home page, you will see the ‘Looking to Buy/Rent?’ banner, which is where you will want to start your search. The radio buttons labeled ‘For Sale’ and ‘For Rent’ are defaulted to show both types of properties. If you are looking specifically for one or the other, select the appropriate button. Properties that are listed ‘For Sale’ or ‘For Rent’ will show up under both search criteria. If you choose not to select one of the radio buttons, your search will include all active homes advertised on the base page you select.
Because our site is designed to ease the stress on military families during times of relocation, our site is organized by state and military installation therefore, it is required that you select a ‘State’ and ‘Base’ to begin your search. Once you have selected the state, the available military installations will be populated in the military ‘Base’ drop down menu. If you would like to see all active advertisements for a particular base, you do not need to do anything more than select the ‘State’ and military ‘Base’ and then the ‘Search’ button. However, because it is more likely that you have specific requirements for your next home, we have given you a wide variety of options to choose from to narrow your search.
We have received requests from customers to offer the option to search for homes using a zip code and we are happy to report that our new site incorporates this feature. Once you have selected the state and military installation, you are welcome to select a zip code from those listed. Notice that next to each zip code, it will display the number of homes, within the parenthesis, that are advertised using that particular zip code.
As soon as the search criterion is selected, the corresponding results will display automatically. While zip code may be an important component to some, it is typically the number of bedrooms and bathrooms that will guide you in a specific direction. As you can see, the number of homes that fit each criterion is once again displayed in the parenthesis. Notice, that as you continue to select different search criterion, the items we have selected are displayed above under the heading you’ve selected which will help you to keep track of how you have narrowed your search. If at anytime you wish to delete one of those parameters, simply click on the red ‘X’ next to that field and it will remove those homes that fit that criterion.
We have enhanced our search options for you to do things like property type, age of home, home size, garage type, and special features. We have also included the option to sort the advertisements by who is advertising the home, for example: owner, agent, or property manager.
Another added feature is our ‘Keyword/Phrase’ field. This is a search feature that will pull up advertisements and resources articles that fit your keyword/phrase.
One more thing that we would like to point out is that the location to the link of our ‘Frequently Asked Questions’, ‘Legal Forms’ and ‘Contact Us’ is now at the top navigation bar.
If you have any questions regarding this tutorial, or any of the services we offer, please feel free to click on the ‘Contact Us’ link to send us an email, or to talk with a customer service representative through our live chat.
We certainly hope that you enjoy the enhanced features of our new responsive site and that we continue to fulfill our mission of easing the stress that comes with frequent military relocation.
