How to Avoid Losing Things During a Move Part 2

We discussed in Part 1 of our two-part series that a huge frustration we often see accompany military moves is lost or missing items. In order to avoid misplacing our belongings we suggested that it is best to pack one room at a time, start to finish, rather than a little in each room all at once.

For Part 2 of this two-part series, we have one tip to help you stay organized during your move.

Label. Not only should you be labeling boxes which room the contents belong to but you should also keep a detailed list of the items within the box. After you have a complete list of each box’s  inventory, tape it to the outside! This small step will not only help you unload the truck faster but it will ensure that all your items showed up at your new home.

Disclaimer: Do not advertise expensive items on the outside of the box. Instead, use vague descriptors to ward off any unwanted attention.
