When it comes to selling your home you have a choice between two different approaches. You can either hire a real estate agent or you can conduct a For Sale By Owner (FSBO). If you choose to sell your home yourself, you’ll likely have a few questions.
Here are four tips from your friends here at MilitaryByOwner to help you have a successful FSBO.
- Check out local listings. Finding house listings comparable to your home in order to help you set a reasonable asking price for your home.
- Find out your state requirements. Check to see if your state requires a lawyer for the closing or any other aspect of the sale. You may consider getting in touch with an attorney even if the state doesn’t require to help you with the process.
- Make a marketing plan. Decide where you want to list your home but also how you’re going to promote it. For example, will you promote your home locally, on social media, or by word of mouth?
- Make a prep list. Write out the things that you need to accomplish around the house before showing it to potential buyers. This list should include any major or minor repairs around the house, and tidying up the landscaping outside.
