USCG Station Portland is manned 365 days a year, 24 hours a day for response to Search and Rescue Emergencies, Recreational Boating Safety, and Homeland Security Missions. The station is co-located with Marine Safety Unit (MSU) Portland on Swan Island on the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon. MSU Portland's area of responsibility extends from the Salmon & Snake Rivers in east (Idaho) down the Columbia River to coastal Oregon & Washington.
