Our house is a very fine house! It is perfect for the person, couple or family looking for a place that is furnished, comfortable inside, has a nice yard, is very close to public transportation (5 minutes to metro and buses), shops, restaurants, bike trails, farmers' markets and easy access to all that the DC metro area has to offer.
There is a gas fireplace in the living room that keeps the place cozy in autumn and winter, along with radiant heat throughout the house. The kitchen has a gas oven and range, and is comfortably outfitted for all manner of cooking adventure.
Since the pandemic, one of three upstairs bedrooms has been converted to home office space (equipped with a standing desk that can be raised or lowered electronically), with the primary bedroom, a second bedroom and a full bath remaining on the top floor. The main floor has a living room, kitchen, dining room, side porch, and large a newly added sunroom with full bath. The sunroom opens onto the lovely shared backyard garden with optional hot tub. The basement is 3/4 finished and functions as a large third bedroom with a full bath (perfect for teens, tweens or guests), with washer and dryer and a separate entrance. The basement and sunroom each have their own separate heating/cooling system that is not connected to the HVAC of the main house.
There is a small separate cottage on the property that will be occupied (negotiable).
The house is less than a block from Wisconsin Avenue, which is a main artery into the city. We have a driveway for off-street parking, as well as permitted parking available on the street.
Our street is cohesive, and the neighbors are pleasant, caring and helpful. Despite our proximity to Wisconsin Avenue, the house is quiet, and really does feel like an urban oasis. On a cool evening out back, guests have been known to describe the place as "enchanted." We like to think so!
