Your military move to NSA Mid-South will plant you about 20 miles north of Memphis (known worldwide as the Home of the Blues and Birthplace of Rock 'n' Roll) in the “military town” of Millington, Tennessee. With its rich history, prominent music scene, commerce, media, and entertainment, not to mention Graceland (the home of Elvis Presley), military members and families will find plenty to love about this duty station.
Originally established in November 1917 as Park Field, an Army Signal Corps Aviation School used to train pilots for service during World War I, NSA Mid-South is now one of the largest single employers in the state of Tennessee.

Through its long history of military aviation and iterations including NAS Memphis, the 1993 Base Realignment and Closure Commission (BRAC) directed the realignment of Naval Air Station Memphis. NAS Memphis was redesignated Naval Support Activity Memphis in 1995. The name was changed to Naval Support Activity Mid-South in 1998.
Today, NSA Mid-South is the Navy’s Human Resources Center of Excellence. Headquartered onboard NSA Mid-South are Navy Personnel Command, Navy Recruiting Command, the Navy Manpower Analysis Center, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Finance Center.

Base Location & Information
Naval Support Activity (NSA) Mid South is located at 7800 Integrity Street, Millington, TN 38054, 21 miles north of downtown Memphis and about seven miles east of the Mississippi River. South of the base is the central business district of Memphis and the cities of Lakeland, Bartlett, Cordova, and Germantown. East of the base is the city of Arlington, TN, and north of the base is the city of Atoka, TN.
