Housing was designed with today's military families in mind, and is located conveniently near post services with easy access to the commissary, PX, playgrounds, and more. Fort Campbell housing is managed by Lend Lease/Campbell Crossing. All service members, regardless of grade or marital status, should report to the HSO prior to entering into an agreement to rent, lease, or buy off-post housing.

Though wintertime may be milder compared to other places you’ve been stationed, you’ll likely experience some snow, with the area averaging 6 inches of snow per year. The month of January is the most dreary, with overcast skies about 54% of the time. July and August are the hottest months.
Expect spring and summer storms, along with increasing humidity. The growing season can extend into November, but fall lovers will rejoice as mild temperatures and mostly sunny days are a feature of autumn here.

The system’s four elementary schools serve approximately 2,500 students in grades Pre-k through fifth, while the middle school and high school have about 500 students each. Students at Fort Campbell High School have an opportunity to earn dual credit through a partnership with Austin Peay State University.
Families living off post will fall under the county where they reside. There are also eleven private schools in the area, including non-sectarian, college prep, and religiously affiliated schools.
Families choosing to homeschool will need to understand the laws for the state in which they live, as there are significant differences in Kentucky and Tennessee homeschooling regulations.
