The Naval Weapons Station at Earle, NJ handles, stores, transports, renovates and issues all types of weapons and ammunition. The station is divided into two sections: Mainside, located in Colts Neck, and the Waterfront Area on Sandy Hook Bay. Both areas are connected by Normandy Road, a 15 mile military road and rail line. Mainside houses the majority of Earle's departments and facilities with the Ordnance Detachment performing the primary mission of providing ammunition to the fleet.
