Changing Ad Status Tutorial
Welcome to the MilitaryByOwner video tutorial where we will aid you in changing the status of your active ad with us. It is our goal to keep our site as up to date as possible so we appreciate your taking the time to make this change.
We often receive calls and emails from our customers asking how they can "remove" or "cancel" their ad with us. We use the term; "updating your ad status", but regardless of what words are used, the end result is the same.
If you have rented or sold your property, then you will want to access your account to change the status of your ad so that it will no longer be visible on the site.
From our home page, please use your email address and password to login to your account. Once you have logged in, you will want to click on the link to "my account" in the upper right hand corner.
Once you have done this, you will see the option to click on a link to "View My Property Ads".
This will display the information regarding your active ad. In the first column you will see an "Update Status" drop down menu. Click on the arrow to view a list of available options. If your home has rented or sold, please select that option. If you home is under contract or has a lease pending, you may wish to indicate this status within your ad. Selecting one of these options will display this new status on our site, but it will not remove the ad. If you need to temporarily remove your ad from our site, you may select the option to "pause". Pausing your ad will remove it from our site, but it will remain in your account with the option to reactivate it. However, please keep in mind that the duration of your ad package will continue to decrease while your ad is paused.
Once you select the desired status, a pop-up window will ask you to confirm this change. If you are satisfied with your choice, choose "Ok". This will save the change made to your ad, which will be reflected on our site immediately.
If you chose "rented" "sold" or "paused", the "update status" option will be removed and the new status will be displayed in the "status" column. If you chose "lease pending" or "under contract" the "update status" will remain as an option in your account so that you may change it again when necessary.
If you paused your ad during your advertising period and would like to reactivate it, you will want to click on the "edit ad" button next to your ad and then select the appropriate option from the drop down menu next to the field titled "ad status". Once you have made your selection, please click on the "save and continue" button at the bottom of that page to make your change effective.
