Ellsworth Air Force Base is home to the 28th Bomb Wing of the Air Combat Command operating the B-1B Lancer. As home to the B-1B, the 28th Bomb Wing provides operational support in areas such as security forces, personnel and administration, civil engineering, communications, supply, transportation, chaplain, recreation and food services. The base controls all air space within 40 miles around it, including all landings at nearby Rapid City Regional Airport, Rapid City, South Dakota.

Joe Foss Field Homes
Joe Foss Field Air National Guard Station is home to the 114th Fighter Wing and headquarters of the South Dakota Air National Guard. It is located in Sioux Falls at Sioux Falls Regional Airport. The Air National Guard Base portion of the airport is located south and west of the commercial and general aviation areas, to the north of Russell Street, and has all the standard facilities of any small USAF installation.
