More than 4,000 people a year arrive for the first chapter of their Coast Guard career - boot camp. Earle Naval Station Homes
The Naval Weapons Station at Earle, NJ handles, stores, transports, renovates and issues all types of weapons and ammunition. The station is divided into two sections: Mainside, located in Colts Neck, and the Waterfront Area, on Sandy Hook Bay. Both areas are connected by Normandy Road, a 15 mile military road and rail line. Mainside, houses the majority of Earle's departments and facilities with the Ordnance Detachment performing the primary mission of providing ammunition to the fleet.

Fort Dix is now Joint Base McGuire Dix Lakehurst (JB MDL)
USAF controlled, Fort Dix has merged with two neighboring military bases, McGuire Air Force Base and Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst, establishing Joint Base McGuire Dix Lakehurst (JB MDL) and is home to many DOD missions and includes all branches of the military. The installation provides world-class management to support expeditionary operations on land, by sea, or by air in support of the nation's defense.

The Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst is now Joint Base McGuire Dix Lakehurst (JB MDL)
NAES Lakehurst merged with nearby Fort Dix and McGuire AFB and is now the USAF controlled Joint Base McGuire Dix Lakehurst also home to the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, as well as fourteen joint and interagency commands. The host unit at Lakehurst is the United States Air Force 87th Air Base Wing (87 ABW).

The Picatinny Arsenal is a military research and manufacturing facility located on a 6,400-acre lot in northern New Jersey near Lake Denmark. The Arsenal is the headquarters of the United States Army Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center and is known for inventing the Picatinny rail, as well as being the Army's center of expertise for small arms cartridge ammunition.
