Naval Station Great Lakes in Illinois is home to the Naval Recruit Training Command and is the central processing location for Naval recruits. With fifteen service schools, support and tenant commands, and the Navy's only Recruit Training Command or "boot camp," more than 20,000 military and civilian personnel live, work, and train at Great Lakes, making it the Navy’s largest training facility.
NSGL's mission is to enable and sustain Fleet, Family, and Fighter by providing superior, integrated Base Operating Support for all tenant commands and installation elements.
