Fort Gregg-Adams, formerly known as Fort Lee, began as Camp Lee in 1917, though the land’s significance dates back to colonial times. Today, it’s the third largest training center in the Army, sending 70,000 service members through the classrooms each year, and houses the US Army Quartermaster Museum and the US Army Women's Museum.

On April 27, 2023, Fort Lee was officially renamed Fort Gregg-Adams after Lt. Gen. Arthur Gregg and Lt. Col. Charity Adams. 

Lt. Gen. Arthur Gregg started as a private and rose to a three-star general during his logistics career with the Army and is the only living person in recent history to have a military installation named after them. Lt. Col. Charity Adams was the first black officer in what’s now known as the Women’s Army Corps in World War II and led the first predominantly black unit overseas.

Pamplin Historical ParkPamplin Historical Park houses a variety of camps, tours, and events to help visitors explore Civil War history.
