Military housing is not available directly at the Coast Guard Charleston Base, however, military privatized housing is available at Joint Base Charleston in Goose Creek, about a 30 minute drive north of Coast Guard Charleston. The Coast Guard Charleston Base is located at 196 Tradd Street, Charleston, SC 29401, at the southern-most tip of Charleston, SC.  The base is surrounded by waterfront and lies within the Charleston Historic District with access to both the Ashley and Cooper Rivers.  Just a stones throw away is the nationally registered Charleston French Quarter District.
