It was designed with today's military families in mind and is located conveniently near post services, with easy access to the commissary, PX, playgrounds, and more. Rain, snow, sun, humidity? Newcomers should be prepared for it all! Fort Campbell's summers are hot and muggy, and winter weather is cold and wet. 

 

Winter may bring some snow, with the area averaging 6 inches of snow per year. January is the most dreary month, with overcast skies about 54% of the time. July and August are the hottest months. Spring and summer storms are common, along with increasing humidity. The growing season can extend into November, but fall lovers will rejoice as this area's mild temperatures and mostly sunny days are a feature of autumn.

Families living on Fort Campbell should note that DODEA runs the schools. The district includes four elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. 

The system’s four elementary schools serve approximately 2,500 students in Pre-K through Fifth, while the middle and high schools have about 500 students each. Fort Campbell High School students can earn dual credit through a partnership with Austin Peay State University.
