Government Family Housing - All incoming personnel are assigned to government housing. Personnel wishing to reside on the economy must obtain a release from housing prior to procuring a residence. Housing aboard the Training Center consists of 127 units in a variety of duplex, 4-plex and 8-plex units with 2, 3, or 4 bedrooms. Base Location:

The Petaluma Training Center is located in the rolling hills of the Two Rock Valley, in the rural area north of San Francisco, California, about 9 miles from the coast and 9 miles west of the city center of Petaluma. The city of Rohnert Park lies nearby to the northeast of the facility and the city of Novato is within 20 miles to the southeast of the base. As well, the California Maritime Academy in Valleho, CA is also southeast of the Coast Guard Petaluma Training Center by about 40 miles or so.
