Base Location

Joint Base Lewis-McChord is the name of the combined military installations of Fort Lewis, WA and McChord AFB. The installation is located in Pacific Northwest on Puget Sound in the state of Washington about 9 miles southwest of Tacoma. The former McChord AFB is at the northern end of the base, closest to Tacoma, Lakewood, Puyallup, Spanaway and University Place, WA, while the former Fort Lewis is at the southern end of the combined installation nearer to Olympia, Lacey and Dupont, WA.
